Hello, I am having trouble with the linux version too. When I test the "contest" example I get:

/tmp/ccJMbUui.o: In function `getDecodingBPM':
contest.c:(.text+0x4c): undefined reference to `BASS_FX_BPM_DecodeGet'
contest.c:(.text+0x58): undefined reference to `BASS_FX_BPM_Free'

contest.c:(.text+0x189): undefined reference to `BASS_FX_GetVersion'
contest.c:(.text+0x29e): undefined reference to `BASS_FX_TempoCreate'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [contest] Error 1

Am I doing something silly?

This is the result using gdb debugger:

... the app crash when using BASS_FX_TempoCreate(), but appear to crash in BASS_FX_BPM_Free  :-\

Hello, I have problems with version 2.4 for Linux.
Calling to any libbass_fx.so function the aplication finishes giving an error: segmentation fault

Works well with libbass.so functions

I use Realbasic and ubuntu 9.10 karmic koala
I tried with other distros (live-cd) and i get the same problem

BASS_VFX, is an add-on providing custom made Visual effects.
For now it has only 4 visuals, that you can find in Spectrum example by Ian.

It's a multi-threaded, customizable and it is an OpenSource.

Thanks for the help, i already contacted oberon before you and they only offered up the new file which led me to you.

The visual c thing happened one time and i have no further issues with it so i don't think it's an issue, but i will look in to it.

I'll look in to registry thing but somehow i think it's somethng else but i don't know what.

Hi ;D

I really don't know why this happening with this game.

But for sure, BASS_FX.DLL is using only direct core Windows libraries and not using any registry information, nor storing any registry or any other files on system.

That should be checked with the developers of this game to check why that happening on your system.

There might be some registry entries that this games uses/stores for its only use.

You can try installing:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)

You can also try checking your system with some registry fix application to see if there're some registry error and fix them.

well i don't then.  there was a bass_fx.dll file in the folder, i still got the same error, so i unzipped what you sent, copied it over, started the game and received the same error plus one

cannot find import; dll may be missing, corrupt, or wrong version, file bass_fx.dll, error 998

and then i got a microsoft visual c++runtime library error

runtime error
program\c:program files
r6030
crt not initialized.

i only got the runtime error once when i first started the game after copying the file over, so i don't know if that an issue or not.

any new ideas.  if it worked for you, one would assume it should for me, so there must be something else but i am at a loss.

Hi ;D

I just installed the game from the link you've provided and the game starts and plays fine, without any BASS_FX errors...
Please make sure that there's BASS_FX.DLL file in games folder:
C:\Program Files\Oberon Media\Elf Bowling 7 The Last Insult

If it doesn't exists or you still have the same error, please download the file I've attached to this message, extract the "bass_fx.dll" file and copy it to the games folder.

I used REVO to completely uninstall the game, then downloaded it again from the linke provided by oberon http:/download-games.pogo.com/exe/Elf_bowling-setup.exe.

I installed the game, entered my registration key, and yet i got the same error message.

I searched in SYSTEM 32 folder for BASS_FX and nothing was found.
